Bob Scott reporting in his weekly Insights column on Acumatica introduction of a content pack for Microsoft’s Power BI.
Showing that co-opetition is alive and well in the software market, Acumatica has introduced a content pack for Microsoft’s Power BI. Acumatica more than debuted the content pack; the company was on stage at Build, Microsoft’s annual developer conference. Microsoft describes Power BI, introduced this year, this way: “Power BI is a cloud service that lets you share, collaborate and access your Excel reports anywhere on any device.” Acumatica said it would release the Acumatica Content Pack for Power BI “soon”. The integration means Acumatica users can analyze and visualize ERP data via Power BI and combine Acumatica data with new data sources on-premise or in the cloud. Other available BI content packs include Google Analytics and Twilio. In a prepared statement, Acumatica CEO Jon Roskill said, “Customers expect real-time data and insights that legacy systems struggle to provide. With this Power BI solution, we are leapfrogging the competition and giving our customers a powerful tool to create dynamic dashboards using natural language queries.”
