NetSuite wants to make the ecommerce ambitions of its customers a reality in as little as 30 days with the latest SuiteCommerce release.
During the recent SuiteWorld conference in Las Vegas, the cloud enterprise resource planning (ERP) provider, now an Oracle subsidiary, showed off an updated version of the commerce as a service offering, which allows businesses to launch a full-featured online store within 30 days. “With SuiteCommerce, businesses can quickly and easily launch, manage and enhance their ecommerce site,” stated Jim McGeever, executive vice president of Oracle NetSuite, in an April 24 announcement.
“From day one, they get a single, unified solution that supports their entire business and will be the first and last system they will ever need. Most importantly, our unique approach puts an end to long, costly implementations and allows customers to get the most they can from their commerce investment,” McGeever stated.
SuiteCommerce enables organizations to run their business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) ecommerce operations on the same platform, simplifying management. Customers can virtually cut the ribbon on their new online stores, complete with dashboards, key performance indicators and reports in about a month’s time, the company claimed.
Responsive site themes allow users to shop for products on a variety of devices. On the backend, drag-and-drop management tools enable users to fine-tune their content and update product pages without calling on the skills of a professional developer.
Catering to those who like digging into code and further customizing their implementations, the NetSuite Commerce Extension Framework offers an API that allows developers to build their own SuiteCommerce extensions.
SuiteSuccess Targets More Industries
Fourteen new editions of NetSuite’s unified business software platform, SuiteSuccess, also made their debut during SuiteWorld. SuiteSuccess gathers ERP, customer relationship management (CRM), professional services automation, commerce, business intelligence and related applications into a single, integrated software-as-a-service package.
The new SuiteSuccess Starter edition is aimed at small businesses with essential accounting capabilities. The Commerce edition for online retailers includes order management and website development components. The Technology Services edition offers sales, orders and project management features that help IT specialists to get paid on their customer engagements.
Other new SuiteSuccess editions are Advertising, Media, Publishing, Consulting Services, Consulting Services Emerging, Manufacturing, Manufacturing Emerging, Food and Beverage Manufacturer, OneWorld, Administrator and Accounting.
NetSuite hopes to ween users off spreadsheets with new enhancements to its SuiteAnalytics business intelligence tool. Now featuring a consumer-grade data exploration tool, SuiteAnalytics allows rank-and-file office users uncover meaningful business insights with comparative ease.
Of course, Oracle isn’t neglecting its core NetSuite application.
Highlights include new financial management capabilities, such as an improved transaction matching engine, enhanced online bank statement reconciliation and multi-subsidiary customer support. On the human resources front, NetSuite is now integrated with Oracle Taleo Business Edition, a mobile employee directory, turnover analytics and a payroll dashboard.
Services organizations can now access new, more flexible billing features and improved project profitability reporting functionality. Finally, a new supply chain control tower, fulfillment capabilities and warehouse management features await manufacturers, distributors and retailers.
