Microsoft Adds Rockstar Games Technical Director To The Initiative Studio Team

Microsoft recently decided to announce The Initiative studio at the E3 2018. Since its launch, Microsoft has done constant efforts to make a talented team for it. So, in the most recent of such efforts The Initiative studio has now got a Rockstar Games veteran by their side.

The Technical Director for Rockstar Games, Tom Shepherd has only recently jumped ship. Tom is going to be another one of the extraordinary minds in the gaming industry working at The Initiative. It is safe to say that Tom Shepherd has a valuable experience to boost the Microsoft game studio further.

Tom has worked on titles like Red Dead Redemption and GTA 5. Additionally, he also been a part of teams behind Max Payne 3 and Midnight Club 3. His 11 years at Rockstar would bring value to The Initiative studio, nonetheless.

The news broke after our fellows at Windows Central reported the hiring by Microsoft. The post that Tom will be taking on has not gotten out yet. But given that The Initiative game studio had listed the job for Technical Director, this might be it.

Moreover, along with this hiring several other brilliant individuals have also come aboard. While Tom arrived only recently at The Initiative Microsoft hired other employees too. RDR Designer and Writer, Christian Cantamessa joined the first-party Microsoft studio.

Brian Westergaard, God of War Producer is also under the Microsoft umbrella. Furthermore, the list of such brilliant employees is growing by the day. People from Snapchat, Google, and Crystal Dynamics have all been joining The Initiative.

The project of Microsoft game studio is still unknown but fans hope a AAA single-player title is in works. Besides, the idea for a Microsoft first-party studio was to do exactly that. The Initiative studio intends to make their team impeccable with such dynamic additions.
